Farai joined Zvandiri as a client and later trained as a CATS to support children and adolescents living with HIV. He then progressed into a role as a Youth Advocate before moving to a Zimbabwean NGO to work as a Linkage Assistant Officer. He shared this letter with Zvandiri.
I would like to start by saluting you all for the amazing work you all do, from the dawn of the organization to where it is now. Give yourselves a pat on the back for you are doing an amazing job with adolescents and young people living with HIV!
I would like to express my greatest of all gratitude for the impact you made in my life since the time I was a beneficiary and to the time I became a CATS. Zvandiri provided me with skills to use in my day to day life and you believed in me and you saw the potential in me that I myself didn’t even think I had. With your guidance I saw life through a different lens and all was clear to me and to all those who were a part of my journey. I thank you.
The chance you gave to me please also give others, you groomed a champion, advocate who has learned the value of being selfless and putting others needs above my own. That’s the heart of a true advocate and wherever I go, remember I will raise the flag up high and will never let it fly any lower.
We have worked together with love, trust and harmony for the 6 years we been together it was truly an honour and to all the bridges we have built let them grow stronger. I hope to work again with you all in the near future and Zvandiri will always be my family and my home. Until we meet again.
