“Our indicators for children and adolescents used to be really low. That’s when CATS were introduced in the country. Since then, CATS have played such a key role in improving our indicators . Zvandiri ensures that each and every child is cared for. It is not just about the pill count. This is changing lives. Zvandiri monitors each and every child at individual level. If there is one investment our country can make, this is the one.”

– MoH, Eswatini

“In terms of recommending the Zvandiri Programme – it’s a big yes!” We started with CATS through READY+ in 2016, now we are seeing a lot of partners in country who are interested in the programme. This has led to expansion by Ministry with Global Fund.”

– Eddie Mkhatshwa, Programme Manager, HIV Technical, CANGO

“We have seen an influx of young people coming to the facilities. Some of them were scared, some they couldn’t talk about their HIV status, some even had self stigma, some had misconceptions they were going to die some day without achieving their dreams. So this has helped us. The READY+ project has impacted on the community and us nurses. It’s bridging the gap between us and the parents of the children. So they have helped us bring the community together.”

– Nurse, Eswatini

“Being a CATS has added much to my life . If young people are HIV positive they lose hope and feel like they can’t do anything just because they have HIV. So my role is to empower and encourage him or her that even if you are HIV positive, you can still fulfil that dream and reach that goal.”

– Naomi, Eswatini

“With CATS in my life, I now feel like a person that matters. When talking to them I am able to share all of my problems and it is extremely helpful, I love it.”
