April has held many roles since she began working with Zvandiri in 2015, and is currently Technical Advisor, focusing on the regional scale up of the Zvandiri Model with partner countries, Ministries and young adults. “Working with the CATS and Young Mentor Mothers has brought me greater personal joy and professional satisfaction than I ever conceived of. Having the opportunity to share this with other countries and young adults is like building the perfect dream together.”
April first moved to the African continent when she joined the Peace Corps and served in Togo, West Africa from 1994-1996. She has lived, worked, and raised a family in various countries across continent over the last 25 years, finally finding her heart with Zvandiri in Zimbabwe.
Holding a Master’s degree in Social Work and certification as a Nurse-Midwife, April uses her skillsets every day at Zvandiri. April can be found providing counseling to a young mother, mentoring a youth advocate, discussing Global Fund budgets with a partner country or brainstorming on a new Zvandirian idea.
