Dr Bekezela Bobbie Khabo

“Dr Bobbie” has been a practising Public Health physician for almost 12 years, with nine at national level overseeing the Quality Management/Quality Improvement (QM/QI) portfolio in the HIV/AIDS and TB Unit. He oversaw the growth of the quality portfolio of the TB and HIV programmes from an initial pilot to over 200 high volume sites across the country. By the time he left the Ministry of Health and Child Care to join Zvandiri, he was the Deputy ART Coordinator, and a member of the WHO Global Quality of Care Technical Working Group.

Dr Bobbie leads Zvandiri’s team in strengthening the integration and scale up of evidence-based, quality innovations which improve clinical outcomes among children, adolescents and young people living with HIV. He also participates in policy development, donor and implementing partner meetings and with technical working groups with the Ministry of Health and Child Care, strategic engagement with key line ministries and funding partners. He contributes to the program’s strategic direction and to building the clinical capacity and expertise within the Zvandiri programme. A medical doctor by training from the University of Zimbabwe College of Health Sciences, he also holds a Master of Public Health from the University of the Western Cape in South Africa.
