Tendai Bvoro is a young man whose care, support and open demeanour undoubtedly saved countless lives amongst his peers during his time as a Community Adolescent Treatment Supporter. In his role, Tendai supported children, adolescents and young people living with HIV through a variety of complementary services integrated within the government and private sector clinical care packages, services for orphans and vulnerable children and social protection services. Tendai was an outstanding CATS, full of energy, ideas, creativity and always had a “YES!” prepared in his responses.
During an unforgettable four years of commitment to Zvandiri, he was a national trainer in improving the quality of care for children and adolescents living with HIV, he collaborated in the development of a new, adapted curriculum for the peer mentors in the adaptation of Zvandiri in Uganda, and was a renowned speaker on multiple platforms. Tendai was recognised by the Zimbabwean Ministry of Health and Child Care as a leader amongst his peers.
